Meet your Wine Auction Chairs

BLAKESLEY and CYRIL CHAPPELLET

Welcome to the 40th Anniversary of the Sun Valley Wine Auction! At Sun Valley Museum of Art, we believe that art is the highest form of hope. An education in the arts helps develop creativity and critical thinking in young minds and nurtures essential social skills like collaboration, empathy and confidence throughout life. Now in its 50th year, SVMoA has served as the Wood River Valley’s cultural anchor, providing every student in Blaine County access to high-quality arts education and uniting our community through shared arts experiences. For 40 of those 50 years, the Sun Valley Wine

Auction has brought together world-class vintners and chefs to celebrate, support and further The Museum’s mission. This year, we honor the Chappellet family and our hosts, Blakesley and Cyril Chappellet, for their steadfast support of the Sun Valley Wine Auction and for their unwavering commitment to SVMoA over the years. Continuing the tradition established by Molly Chappellet, who played a key role in organizing the inaugural Sun Valley Wine Auction in 1981, Cyril and Blakesley are proud to bring their passion for the finest in food and wine to their roles as the chairs for this year’s 40th anniversary auction. We are humbled by their support of SVMoA, both for the work we have done in the course of 50 years and for all that lies ahead.

THE FINE PRINT Pour Votre Santé: A Note on Health & Safety The Wine Auction team and Museum staff are committed to the health and safety of our patrons, participants and partners. We are working hard to ensure COVID-19 protocols are adhered to at all events throughout Wine Auction week and that the recommendations of the CDC, the State of Idaho, and Blaine County/Sun Valley will be strictly followed.

ART is THE HIGHEST form of HOPE

Since 1971, we have served this community—a community that is curious about the world and eager for arts and cultural experiences. We’ve welcomed amazing artists and thinkers. We’ve provided generations of local students with a strong foundation in the arts. We’ve connected our community through creativity, conversation, and BIG IDEAS.

Helping students and teachers pursue their dreams. Sun Valley Museum of Art believes art education is essential to building engaged, curious, inspired and contributing citizens. Art strengthens individuals and communities, and SVMoA’s educational programs develop fundamental life skills like confidence, improvisation, empathy, self-expression and problem-solving. Sun Valley Museum of Art awards local students and educators five different types of scholarships annually to further their education in the arts and humanities. The Museum’s overall scholarships since 1998 have reached more than $1 million. The SVMoA scholarship program is made possible through funds raised at the SVMoA’s Annual Wine Auction and private donations. Thank you to ourgenerous donors!
