A Day of Revelry

WITH BLUE FARM WINES & IDAHO ROCKY MOUNTAIN RANCH

Nothing kicks off the Sun Valley Wine Auction like a sabre and a Salmanazar!

The winning bidder will receive a 9L bottle of 2016 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs to be shared tableside at the 2023 Pig Roast alongside a special appetizer course prepared by Wine Auction Chef de Cuisine John Tesar and Chef Bruce Kalman.

Chef John Tesar’s influential culinary career spans over four decades, with a gastronomic footprint in the Southwest and on both coasts. Chef Tesar has earned high praise for his critically acclaimed Knife Steakhouse locations in Dallas and Plano, and in 2022 he was awarded a Michelin star for his exemplary work at Knife & Spoon at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando.

Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Bruce Kalman is a James Beard-nominated chef with accolades that include David Burke’s Park Avenue Cafe (NYC), The Misfit (Santa Monica), The Churchill (West Hollywood), and Union (Pasadena). His next act, SoulBelly BBQ, combines Kalman’s love of butchery with a passion for chef-driven flavors and techniques.

A winemaker dinner like no other.

Courtney and Steve Kapp, proprietors of Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch (IRMR), invite you to join them for a winemaker dinner like no other: a multicourse sunset meal for eight guests featuring the exquisite Chardonnay and Pinot Noir curated by winemaker extraordinaire Anne Moller-Racke of Blue Farm Wines. Following a day of guided recreation in the spectacular Sawtooth Mountains, you and your guests will return to the ranch for a soak in the on-site hot springs, then freshen up for cocktails and amuse-bouches on the lower lawn followed by dinner on the porch of IRMR’s main lodge.

Nestled amidst Idaho’s snow-capped Rocky Mountain peaks and the meandering Salmon River, Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch has flourished as a western ranch vacation retreat for 80 years. The living history of the Old West mingles with the solitude and peace of this 870-acre ranch, offering freedom, breathtaking natural beauty, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The brainchild and passion project of winemaker Anne Moller-Racke and vintner Timothy Mott, Blue Farm Wines was launched in 2007 on Moller-Racke’s home vineyard. Known for its rigorous farming practices, meticulous care for growing grapes, and a deep connection to the land, Blue Farm Wines began as a seven-acre vineyard divided into four blocks to create one complete wine. Today, it includes Grand Cru-style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from five vineyards and five AVAs within Sonoma County.
