The Sun Valley Center for the Arts Wine Auction is one of the premier charity wine auctions in the country and a highlight of the summer season. For more than 30 years, we have gathered in the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho, for this legendary weekend, celebrating extraordinary wine and exceptional food, entertainment, and the arts. Be a part of the tradition at our intimate vintner dinners, lively auction gala, and grand outdoor tasting‌there is truly something for everyone. Dinner with the Vintners One of the most anticipated events of the Wine Auction weekend, Vintner Dinners are a chance to gather with a select group of guests for an evening of outstanding wine and excellent cuisine. These intimate and distinctive dinners take place in stunning private homes throughout the valley. Renowned winemakers offer their cellar gems and join forces with acclaimed chefs, both local and international, who prepare outstanding multi-course meals, perfectly matched with the selected wines. This inspired chemistry makes for a truly memorable experience.

Junior Patrons Circle Tapas & Tasting Mingle with other young patrons of the arts in a gorgeous outdoor setting as you sample tapas style dishes and taste exciting wines from several of our participating wineries. The wines are specially selected to complement the chef ’s creations, resulting in delicious and sometimes surprising pairings. Vintners will be on hand to share anecdotes, answer questions and guide the tastings. Spend a delightful summer evening meeting people, discovering new flavors and enjoying great wine.

UNFORGETTABLE That’s the kind of event this is. The celebrated Wine Auction Gala is renowned for its fabulous entertainment, stellar cuisine, special winery-hosted tables and impressive auction lots. The excitement in the air is palpable and builds throughout the evening. Start off by tempting your palate with scrumptious samplings from famed local restaurant, Cristina’s, followed by four gourmet courses from Sun Valley Resort’s accomplished Executive Chef John Murcko. Enjoy world-class wines and a thrilling live performance by inventive dance group, Brain Sandersˊ JUNK, as well as the opportunity to support The Center by bidding on exceptional silent and live lots. This year's lots feature fabulous travel opportunities, extraordinary wines and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Vine & Dine The Wine Auction weekend extravaganza culminates in our brand-new Vine & Dine event. A lawn party with great wines, tasty tapas plates, live music, maybe even some dancing…what more could you want? Gifted local chefs will show off their latest and greatest dishes for you to dine on and, most importantly, more than 100 wineries have contributed their best varietals so you can taste to your heart’s content. Don’t forget, there are always surprises and hidden gems that show up at the wine tables! Cap off the evening with live music from the hip Boston-based trio, The Ballroom Thieves, playing soulful and high-energy folk/rock so you can break out your best dance moves. And, of course, everyone gets to take home a complimentary commemorative Riedel glass.

Peay Vineyards A first-generation family estate, Peay Vineyards produces terroir-driven Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay from their remote and rugged West Sonoma Coast vineyard. Peay has quickly become one of the most sought-after wineries, leading a trend towards wines of balance.

Copain Wines Copain’s winery is perched on a hill overlooking the Russian River Valley. Dinner will be served in the garden and prepared by a valley favorite, Vintage Restaurant. Known for a distinctive blend of fresh ingredients, the chef will present a remarkable menu for your enjoyment. Aloft Wines Working with the highly regarded winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, and his best friend and vineyard manager Jim Barbour, Marc Mondavi crafts a few barrels of prized Howell Mountain Cabernet from his new Cold Springs Vineyard. You will be among the lucky few to taste both vintages of this incredibly special wine, only in its second release.

This time, they will be joined by Drew Bledsoe of Doubleback, who will add to the fun and round out the outstanding wine selection with jaw-dropping reds from his vineyards in Walla Walla. The vintners are bringing magnums of their very best wines to this dinner, offering exclusive access to incredibly limited releases. Of course, it’s all about the details, and not a single one will be overlooked at this event. Rob McGowan’s contemporary home, designed by B&B Italia, is secluded and luxurious—the ideal setting for savoring an incredible meal on a gorgeous outdoor terrace and enjoying wines of undisputed excellence. Long Meadow Ranch Winery The wines from Long Meadow Ranch, in the heart of Napa Valley, are renowned for their elegance and balanced style. Sommeliers at the finest establishments feature their boutique wines on award-winning lists. Long Meadow’s sustainably farmed vineyards allow them to bring extraordinary flavors and integrity to the table.
Northstar Winemaker David "Merf" Merfeld crafts world-class Merlots of great distinction and acclaim from the unique terroir of Walla Walla, demonstrating the potential of the variety in Washington State. Failla Wines According to The Wine Advocate, “FAILLA is a top-notch source of high-quality, European-inspired wines that combine flavor, intensity and elegance." Named 2008 Winemaker of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle, French-trained winemaker Ehren Jordan of Failla focuses on cool-climate grape sources to produce food-friendly wines of crisp acidity and layered complexity.
Phifer Pavitt Wine Hidden in the hills near Calistoga is a small winery producing big, powerful Cabernets. Winemakers Ted Osborne and Gary Warburton have a passion for consistently pushing the wine quality at Phifer Pavitt to new heights, resulting in rave reviews and ever-increasing popularity.
Justin Smillie of il Buco Alimentari e Vineria, New York, New York During his early training as a chef, Justin fell in love with bold flavors, rustic technique, open fire and farm to table cooking. As the executive chef at il Buco Alimentari e Vineria, a New York Times three-star restaurant, Justin enjoys bringing “farmer’s market-driven” cuisine to the menu.

Chappellet Winery Chappellet, a family-owned Napa Valley winery, has been crafting extraordinary, age-worthy wines since 1967. Callie and Maeme Rasberry of Rasberry’s, Ketchum, Idaho Delicious and unique cuisine is the trademark draw for guests of Callie and Maeme Rasberry, twin sisters and owners of Rasberrys in Ketchum and Hailey. They share a love of cooking and delight in experimenting with new dishes and the freshest local ingredients they can find.
Executive Chef Rob Wilson of Montage Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach, California Star chef Rob Wilson has an extensive culinary background and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York. Named “Chef of the Year” by Chef Magazine in 2008, he joined Montage in 2010 after an impressive history spanning two decades as Executive Chef with the Ritz-Carlton chain.

Cristina Cook of Cristina’s Restaurant, Ketchum, Idaho Cristina Ceccatelli Cook grew up in Tuscany and moved to the United States in 1993. She is the author of two successful cookbooks. Her restaurant in Ketchum is a special place where people gather to enjoy the company of friends and taste the fresh, uncomplicated flavors of Cristina's Tuscan childhood.

Due to the limited availability of passes and the charitable fundraising purpose of the event, no refunds will be issued. 21 OR OLDER By law, ALL registrants and guests attending Wine Auction sponsored events, including the Saturday Vine & Dine, must be at least 21 years of age. No one under the age of 21, including infants and toddlers, will be admitted to any Wine Auction function. We recommend making childcare arrangements in advance. PARKING REQUIREMENTS Valet parking will be provided for the Wine Auction Gala evening at Dollar Mountain Lodge. Due to limited parking capacity, there will be no patron parking at Dollar Mountain Lodge for any events including the Vine & Dine (except for Grand Cru pass holders). A free Champagne Shuttle service from the Pavilion parking lot will be provided for the Vine & Dine Plus Pass and Vine & Dine.
