Virat Kohli’s Glum Look Goes Viral After Royal Challengers Bangalore Crash Out of IPL 2023

Agency News: Chennai

Sunday afternoon in Chennai was hot, humid and had a very different laze in the air. The roads and pedestrian walkways wore a deserted look. It was the kind of mood one generally gets in the north after a big plate of Chole Bhature and chilled serving of lassi. Chennai didn’t offer the taste of the two but had ample servings of heat and humidity which contributed to that afternoon laze. A look at the weather app gave readings in the mid-30s but it felt more and sapped energy under the unforgiving sun. Chepauk, venue for IPL Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, was undergoing last-minute touch-ups ahead of the clash between Gujarat

A handful of daily workers were putting the makeshift barricades while the stadium corridors saw movement from the logistics team. A couple of members of the ground staff were addressing the square and the 22 yards and no one seemed in a hurry. Even in the lanes next to the iconic venue, most of the shops had their shutters down and the ones which were open had the staff glued to the television sets. Right at the end of the road, about a stones throw away from Chepauk stood “Dhoni Sports”. An ideal location and a unique name makes it stand out in a lane filled with more stores doing similar business with names and images of other leading cricketers. This isn’t a big shop with world-class collection or shopping experience. A small L-shaped outlet with some bats, plenty of yellow CSK jerseys and caps and other basic.

‘Extremely Shameful…’: DCW Warns Action After Shubman Gill, Sister Trolled For IPL Win Against RCB

Agency News: New Delhi

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Monday strongly objected those who trolled cricketer Shubman Gill’s sister, after the batsman helped steer Gujarat Titans to their victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an IPL match held a day before. Maliwal took cognisance of the trolls saying that this “will not be tolerated” and vowed action against all those who have abused Shahneel Gill. Taking to Twitter, Maliwal shared some screenshots of Twitter users who abused Gill, and wrote, “Extremely shameful to see trollers abusing Shubman Gill’s sister just because the team they follow lost a match.”

“Previously we had initiated action against people abusing ViratKohli daughter. DCW will take action against all those who have abused Gill’s sister as well. This shall not be tolerated,” she added. This comes after Shubman Gill’s bating led the Gujarat Titans to a sixwicket victory to against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday night. Gill scored a century and played till the end. Before this, Maliwal had also asked the Delhi Police to file an FIR in connection with the “lewd” comments on social media against the daughters of cricketers M S Dhoni and Virat Kohli. “Some accounts are posting pictures of the daughters of two senior players of the country, Virat Kohli and (M S) Dhoni, on Twitter and making lewd comments. Disgusting comments about twoyear-old and seven-year-old girls.

If you don’t like a player, will you abuse his daughter? Issuing notice to police to register FIR,” she had said.

Virat Kohli’s record-breaking Indian Premier League (IPL) century went in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to progress into the next round.

Kohli registered his seventh IPL ton – the most by any player in the history of the tournament – to guide Bangalore to a challenging total of 197/5 against defending champions Gujarat Titans on Sunday night. GT, thanks to Shubman Gill’s sublime hundred, reached the target with five balls to spare. With no IPL title in their trophy cabinet, the defeat was another blow for the Bangalorebased franchise. Following Gill’s match-winning knock, Kohli was spotted sitting dejected in the Bangalore dugout. A photo of a crestfallen Kohli soon started doing rounds on social media.

“It’s all about getting a start and converting it into a big one. Thankfully it’s working out for me in the business end. You have to keep applying yourself, that’s important. The new ball was holding on a bit. The ball was getting wet with the dew,” Gill said after his epic knock. In the IPL 2023 playoffs, Gujarat Titans will be up against MS Dhoniled Chennai Super Kings in the first Qualifier. Lucknow Super Giants will face Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. Both matches will be played in Chennai. This user felt that Virat Kohli did not receive much help from his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates. Showcasing his support for India’s star batter, one person tweeted, “What more Virat Kohli should do? Every time he gives his heart and soul but everyone else disappoints him! You got to feel for him.” Some even wanted Kohli to join a new franchise ahead of next season’s IPL.

Karnataka Congress workers use cow urine to ‘purify’ Vidhana Soudha after end of BJP’s ‘corrupt’ term himself batting on 98. With one run separating Green from the century and MI from the win, the lanky allrounder tried pushing one gently for a single but was beaten on the outside edge, leaving a few anxious faces in the team’s dugout.
