SS Rajamouli Spent Rs 80 Crores for RRR Oscar Campaign

RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, continues to make news even after a year of its release. Earlier this month, the film, directed by SS Rajamouli, won an Oscar in Best Original Song category for Naatu Naatu at the 95th Academy Awards which took place in Los Angeles. However, the film courted controversy over its Oscar promotions after it was reported that SS Rajamouli apparently spent Rs 80 crores for RRR’s campaigning in the US. Now, Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya has finally broken his silence over the rumours. “We had plans to wrap up things in Rs 5 crores but we ended up spending Rs 8.5 crores for the campaign. Special screenings are arranged in a couple of cities of USA for RRR” Karthikeya was quoted as saying by Telugu 360.com. First Citizens Bank reaches deal to purchase Silicon Valley Bank

The US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has announced that First Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Raleigh, North Carolina entered a purchase agreement for all deposits and loans of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, National Association.“The 17 former branches of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, National Association, will open as First Citizens Bank & Trust Company on Monday, March 27, 2023,” Fox Business quoted the FDIC as saying in a statement.“Customers of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, National Association, should continue to use their current branch until they receive notice from First Citizens Bank & Trust Company that systems conversions have been completed to allow full service banking at all of its other branch locations,” the statement continued.Depositors of the Santa Clara, California-located bank will automatically become depositors of First Citizens Bank & Trust Company, according to the statement, and all deposits will be assumed and insured by First Citizens Bank & Trust Company, up to the insurance limit, Fox Business reported.The FDIC said: “As of March 10, 2023, Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, National Association, had approximately $167 billion in total assets and about $119 billion in total deposits. Today’s transaction included the purchase of about $72 billion of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, National Association’s assets at a discount of $16.5 billion.”In addition, approximately $90 billion in securities and other assets will remain in the receivership for disposition by the FDIC.

The director alleged that the film was made on a budget of Rs 600 crore. “Now they (RRR team) have spent another Rs 80 crore for its Oscar promotions, therefore we can make eight to ten films out of its promotional budget itself!” He had said.

Indian data science professionals are increasingly leveraging reskilling and upskilling programmes to unearth new career opportunities for themselves, revealed the findings from the recently released Emeritus India Impact Survey. The survey, conducted by Emeritus, a global leader in world-class professional education, found that 2 in every 3 data science professionals polled were able to gain an edge over peers as a result of participating in professional upskilling programmes from Emeritus.A majority of the data science professionals surveyed – about 86% – admitted to seeing a positive impact on their jobs from the programmes they were a part of within a span of 12 months, demonstrating the immediacy of the programme outcomes. 1 in 2 professionals said they advanced in their current jobs and were also able to unearth new career opportunities, thanks to the programme they undertook. The majority of the survey respondents belonged to the fields of software and IT services, healthcare, as well as, finance and insurance.There is a huge gap of at least 51% between the demand and supply of data science professionals (working in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and big data analytics) in India, as per the ‘State of Data Science & AI Skills in India’ report 2023 published by Nasscom, the apex body for Indian IT industry.
