SHAKESPEARE BOOK SERIES Shakespeare’ books have grave implications which are hard to express. I chose a simple element to represent the complicated life of characteristics.

COOKBOOK This is a redesign project. Before designing, I went to book shops for finding a cookbook and found out that there were a lot of badly designed cookbooks, so I want to design a unique cookbook which has an attitude. Every food material has its color, so I use color as the way to let people feel foods and discover the happiness of cooking.

TYPOGRAPHIC ZINE This is a weekly zine assignment. Every week I find an interesting theme which gives me a space to try new things. The result is fascinating. After I combined 14 zines together, I realized I have tried so many different things and used a lot of funny elements. I experience the sense of achievement.

PHOTOGRAPHY PUBLICATION The project is in total freedom. I have chosen to design a publication about photography, including photographer interview, poems about photography and photography awards. The book has a handy size and a unique open way. After the book opens, on the left you can find interviews, and at the back, there is a 2018 SONY photography award winners and their works. On the right, there are several poems about photography.

UNDERWEAR Underwear is a poem book written by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, which is very interesting. I started from the traits of underwear, so I have thought about texture, color, pattern. I created several different images which can express the feeling of underwear. Also, I used grids to match the poem.

NIGHT ON EARTH This is a posters design for the movie Night on Earth. In the movie, several short stories happen at night, and in some way, the stories have some connections in between. I use black and white to represent night. I have drawn finger prints lines to represent connections between characteristics.

BOTANICAL FANATICISM Botanical Fanaticism is a poem written by Thylias Moss, and the photographer I choose is Imogen Cunningham. For this project, finding the inner connection between poetry and photography is significant. The poster is double-sided, on one side, the poem and photography are harmonious, and on the other the poem and photography are discordant. I use a flexible grid to combine poetry and photos.

Identity.

ARRAS FOUNDATION In Sagi eismar’ class, there is a real client called Arras Foundation. e had a face-to-face conversation in which I understand what kind of identity they want. I have drawn about logos and chosen one to refine. I inspired by collaboration and communication which are significant for Arras Foundation. I use people as the main element to express meaning. For typography, I choose Source Sans which can show a strong and tasteful identity. For color, red represents enthusiasm purple represents calmness.

FRICK COLLECTION This website is for educating self-motivated viewers by in-museum visual experience.

PROBLEM:

After doing primary and secondary research, I have found several pain points in The Frick Collection. ne of the biggest problems is that viewers cannot get a convenient audio guided tour or headphones for them to get information about the collections.

SOLUTION:

Starting from the problem, I create an in-museum website for viewers to quickly get paintings’ information.
