When the ice melts away and sunsets again Boast their pinks and purples and sultry oranges, When winter steps aside to reveal her younger sister Are there usually such jagged scars?
Is the beach usually so violently still? I hear cursing and crying under that thin Layer of white silence. It is not the silence Of absence. It is the sting after a slap.
Is it supposed to be this hard to see the sun? Where are the children in their yellow rain boots? Was last time our last time? This stillness is one that has lurked for eons. Only now it has begun to scream.
