The MBA is the most widely awarded and recognized graduate degree in the field of business. At SUNY Poly, the MBA in Technology Management combines a rigorous study of management topics with a unique focus on technology and innovation management. Our students benefit from an emphasis on leading and managing emerging technologies which is crucial in today’s ever changing workplace.

The program stresses the use of modern techniques to analyze and develop business solutions and prepare graduates for upper-level management jobs. Students can complete the program on either a full-time or part-time basis and it is offered in a full online format.

Concentrations

All MBA students choose an area of specialization that is best suited to their specific career goals.

• Accounting and Finance: From investment strategy to corporate financial reporting, this concentration explores and magnifies topics in money management guided by the everchanging and modern influences of technology. Practitioners including CPA’s, accounting or financial professionals, or students with a peaked interest in these topic areas will benefit.

• Health Informatics: The impact and reliance of technology in the healthcare industry continues to grow. Skilled professionals in information systems and management are now just as essential to organizations as the technologies themselves. Topics balance the theory and practice needed to start or advance your career in health care.

• Human Resource Management: This concentration is designed to teach HR practices from a strategic point of view: labor relations, compensation, and human resources information systems.  Practitioners will gain effective techniques for their challenges in managing people in the changing work environment.  Students will learn to identify problems and make recommendations in the areas of recruitment, selection, training, performance management, compensation, and labor relations.

• Marketing Management: Through case-based activities and an emphasis on technology, students learn the planning, management, and assessment of marketing activities critical to an organization’s success. Current topics such as brand communities (use of social media for marketing) and data analytics are also emphasized.

• Business Management: For a closer look and understanding of multiple topic areas, students create their own custom concentrations by selecting courses from any of the other concentrations. The business management concentration is a perfect choice for students interested in exploring specialized topic areas in business.
