MS Information Design & Technology
The Program
Our program offers an interdisciplinary examination of the role of new and emerging media within contemporary culture and communication, while allowing students to develop a specific area of research to suit their unique academic and professional goals.
Through theory, practice, and individual research, students examine the complex relationship between diverse types of information and the technologies that are used to work with and communicate that information. Offering historical perspective alongside technical instruction, the IDT program places particular emphasis on the social impact and potential of new communication technologies.
The IDT program accommodates both full-time and part-time students. Full-time students can complete the program within a 24-month period. Part-time completion will vary based on the total number of credits taken each term. The program is available in a full online format.

Online Learning
The IDT program has been offered asynchronously online for more than 15 years. Asynchronous learning enables our students to set their own schedule, and complete their coursework at a time and a place of their choosing. At the same time, faculty are also available to meet synchronously or on-campus with students who seek additional engagement.
Our faculty are well-versed in the challenges of creating engaging learning opportunities for our online students. The IDT program uses innovative and leadingedge techniques and technologies to create learning environments, while at the same time providing experience with and exposure to the emerging information technologies available in professional, educational and recreational settings.
