EYES:

Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Get prompt medical attention. If in any doubt SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY! Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Provide rest, warmth and fresh air. Get medical attention.

Rinse mouth thoroughly with water and give large amounts of milk or water to people not unconscious. Get medical attention immediately!

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Wash off promptly and flush contaminated skin with water. Promptly remove clothing if soaked through and flush skin with water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Rinse the eye with water immediately. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. Make sure to remove any contact lenses from the eyes before rinsing.

5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

This material is not flammable. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Containers close to fire should be removed or cooled with water. Use water to keep fire exposed containers cool and disperse vapours.

Prolonged or frequent exposure to high concentrations (above the hygiene standard) causes erosion of the teeth. Severe over exposure may cause lung damage. Serious damage to the lining of nose, throat and lungs.

May cause irritation of the mouth, throat and digestive tract causing vomiting and abdominal pain. The lethal dose of Sodium Hydroxide for man is approximately 5g. Severe irritation and corrosion of the mouth, throat and digestive tract. May cause severe damage to gastro-intestinal tract.
