Thursday 21 April 14.00 2x5 Art Shots 2x5 Art Shots brings international artists, galleries, art professionals and the audience together in two dynamic sessions. During two slots we present a total of ten speakers, each of whom have only ten minutes and ten images to show. Intense and visual; you will hear, see and discuss the best on offer from the contemporary artist-run projects. Duration: 60 min 15.30 Though it’s hurting me, Now it’s history Performance by Katherine Nolan Performing both a private act of listening and a very public ‘letting it all out’, this piece explores melodrama as cathartic act and selfparody. It is part of a series taking cues from both localised sites and kitsch notions of national identity. The work will respond to the Swedish context, raising questions of the politics of performance and self-image. Duration: 6 min 4 sec

16.00 Studio preview: Weld Company + Rebecka Stillman The dance and art platform Weld in Stockholm has initiated Weld Company, which comprises dancers and choreographers from different generations and contexts. On April 28 the company’s thirteen members together with choreographer Rebecka Stillman premiere Phoenix at Dansens hus main stage. Here an excerpt will be presented. Duration: 20 min

17.00 Falling from Grace. The Apple and Eve. IntraGalactic arts collective organised by Malin Ståhl A performance about the fall of man that coincides with the origins of performance art. It will explore Eve as the first performance artist when she went out to pick the apple in the Garden of Eden. A manifestation and exploration of women’s power and the symbolism of the fruit will be carried out through apple rituals. Duration: 20 min


18.30 Jam Cardell Jan Cardell and secret guests Musical electromechanical sculptures invites play. Bass tunes controlled by an interactive camera and painted wooden blocks. Percussion flower rhythms conducted via telegraph key. The Jam Orchestra loops suggestive rhythms, inspiring jam sessions with Jan, his saxophone and musician friends. Duration: 60 min

Friday 22 April 14.00 2x5 Art Shots 2x5 Art Shots brings international artists, galleries, art professionals and the audience together in two dynamic sessions. Duration: 60 min 15.30 Remediating the Timeline The artist Dorinel Marc leads a workshop where young artists have the opportunity to test their performance ideas in public. The project is open and process-oriented. One of the conditions is that the participants are flexible and can adapt to the times and spaces available. No experience required.

17:00 Konstnärerna och internet (Samtal på svenska) Bildupphovsrätt har nyligen fått rätt av Högsta Domstolen i att man inte kan lägga ut offentliga konstverk på en särskild databas utan konstnärernas tillstånd. I media har domen kommit att handla om privatpersoners foton av offentlig konst som läggs på t ex Facebook. Hur ska konstnärerna kunna bevara sina rättigheter på internet, vilka är utmaningarna, hur med den egna konsten och hur ser Bildupphovsrätts lösningar ut? 18.30 Dror Feiler, Saxophones & Bells Dror Feiler is a musician, composer, visual artist and political activist. Dror Feiler must rank as one of Sweden’s leading composers and improvisation musicians. In recent years his reputation as a musician and composer has quickly grown and some of the most important European orchestras, festivals and ensembles has commissioned works from him. Saturday 23 April 13.00 Reinventing Independence – ten years with the artist-run scene Special discussion seminar What has been done, what is left to do and what will never be? An open discussion with artist-run spaces and the audience. In what way has the artist-run scene developed during the last ten years? What conclusions can be drawn and what strategies do we have for the future? In collaboration with AIM Network. 15.00 Sanctuaries for artists Discussion and book release In the recently published “Refuges, hospitality and freedom of expression,” art critic Niels Hebert writes about threats to freedom of expression in art from a global perspective. Erik Berggren leads a conversation with Niels Hebert and Anna Livion-Ingvarsson, who worked together for the now established refuge for artists in Gävle. Also participating is Marina Maraeva from St. Petersburg, lawyer and graduate of the School for Engaged Art (founded by the art collective Chto Delat). In collaboration with the Swedish Art Critics Association and Gävle Konstcentrum. Duration: 60 min 16.30 Bredvid A Ann Rosén Ann Rosén performs on her Kneecuff-instrument. Bredvid A is about parallel processes that might affect each other but are not linked! It is like young children engaged in parallel play. They have a lot in common and can even borrow stuff from each other but they are still in their own worlds! www.storabarriarorkestern.se Duration: 20 min


17.30 LIVE SENTENCES Sofia Härdig The concept of this performance is very simple. One person and a microphone. Sofia Härdig makes critically acclaimed albums and tours worldwide playing with members from legendary bands like Boredoms, Free Kitten, bob hund, Belle and Sebastian, Medusa’s Bed (Lydia Lunch’s project) and many more. Duration: 20 min

Sunday 24 April 13.00 Closed Borders, New Territories and Absent Subjects – contemporary art on migration In this talk we will look at selected images and discuss the problems of representation in art about migration and its relationship to politics. We will also explore how artists have dealt with notions of agency, subjectivity and identification in images as well as ideas of empowerment and mobilisation when the migrant themself is not present. Participants: Axel Andersson, Erik Berggren and exhibiting artists and curators at Supermarket, TBA. In collaboration with Museum of Forgetting, Linköping. 16.00 Galeria Raczej Selection Performance by one of the artists invited by Galeria Raczej: Paweł Korbus, Justyna Scheuring or Dominik Złotkowski. The invited artists also presents offstage performances and Galeria Raczej presents a performative installation by Łukasz Trusewicz with performative talks held by Agnieszka Szablikowska in their booth.
