Tips for Using the Firefox Toolbar The Firefox browser comes with a toolbar you can use for Web navigation and managing your bookmarks. The default settings are adequate for many users. But if you want to customize it, the process is very simple. How to Customize the Firefox Toolbar Step 1 Open the Firefox browser. If you have not made any changes, the Navigation and Bookmark toolbars will be displayed. If the toolbar is not visible, close Firefox and restart it. Or you can just choose it from View, Toolbars. Step 2 On the menu bar, choose View. On the drop down menu, highlight Toolbars. The sub menu will become visible. Choose Customize. The 'Customize Toolbar' will pop up. Step 3 Use the tools provided to change and configure the toolbar. You have the option of altering the toolbar location, delete or add buttons. To avoid confusion, put blank spaces or separators. Exit the toolbar once you have made all the changes. Step 4 It is possible to prevent people from gaining access to your personal data. Choose Options from the Tools menu. Go to the Privacy tab. Delete all the information. How to Delete a Customized Firefox Toolbar Step 1 Launch the Firefox browser. Go to View, Toolbars and select the toolbar you want to delete. Step 2 Right click the toolbar you want to remove. Choose Customize. Step 3 Drag the buttons on the toolbar onto the popup window. You have to drag the buttons one at a time. This step will delete the buttons. Repeat this step for all the buttons you want to delete. Once you remove all the custom buttons, they will be deleted automatically. Warning: do this only for the buttons you want to remove. If you delete one by mistake, you will have to add it again. Notes

These steps are designed for Firefox 2.00.2. If you have a newer or older version, the process may vary slightly. You have to check the help file to be sure.
