Faculty Satisfaction Surveys – 2012 vs 2014 Deland and Celebration Campus Full-Time Faculty The 2012 Faculty Satisfaction Survey included some items similar to those in the 2014 survey. In the recent Faculty Senate meeting, interest was expressed in comparing the results of the two surveys, so the overall results for both surveys are reported below, first the 2012 results and then the 2014 results. When evaluating the importance of any apparent similarities or differences in the responses, please keep in mind the following: 1. In many cases, the wording of items from the two surveys was similar but not identical. 2. The 2014 survey included “Don’t Know” and “Not Applicable” as options, but the 2012 survey did not. 3. Many more faculty members responded to the 2014 survey (138) than to the 2012 survey (73). For these and other reasons, doing tests of the statistical significance of any differences between the two surveys would not have been informative. However, seeing the overall results for both surveys may still be of interest. Key for 2012 Results Immediately Below Mean The average rating, where SD=1, D=2, N=3, A=4, and SA=5 SD D N A SA
