SURFING LIFE • 1 • MISS REEF

A lot of time and effort has gone into creating bikini bottoms this perfect – hard work pays off, no?

MISS REEF Thirty years ago two brothers changed the way the surf industry worked. Their names were Fernando and Santiago Aguerre. Hailing from Argentina, the duo decided to relocate to Southern California in an attempt to become a part of the surfing lifestyle that was flourishing at the time, and through their heritage, thought that they could make a change. They came from a land imagined to be full of scantily clad lineups and beautifully bronzed women. Their culture seemed to be irresistible, and that’s why they created Reef – a company known for gorgeous, anonymous women. And shoes – but that’s for another TearOff.. It’s the brand that encapsulates what surfing wants to be known for these days. Surfing wants to be known for travel. It wants to be known for sexy. It wants to be known for health and fitness. It wants to give us the desire and initiative to venture into the light blue unknown and explore the locales that haven’t been touched by foreign traveller. It wants to give us the courage to paddle out into the abyss and never look back. And it wants to give the women who capture its principles the power to leave you forever enticed. That’s why, when Fernando and Santiago decided to create Reef they took their heritage of beautiful, dark , mysterious women and brought them into the world of surf – the anonymity and the effervescence that you can’t resist. Somehow they manifested that seduction in shoes. But the shoes were good shoes and they represented what we like to think surfing is all about , and that’s why we still love and cherish and ritualistically check their website and buy their calendars. Not for the butts, but for the essence of it all. Or at least that’s what we tell ourselves. So, happy holidays. Enjoy. SURFING LIFE • 2 • MISS REEF
