Why does EcoBio says no to oil derived.

T hese substance can be easily substituted with natural derived substances.

In a very interesting article the onset of irritations on preterm subjects is related to the use of products containing oil derived. Today modern row material chemistry offers a wide range of natural derived substances, able to substitute old petrolatum.

Lately petrolatum has been “under special surveillance” in cosmetic field, because the new edition of the cosmetic directive is adding petrolatum and paraffines to the list of substances that must be completely avoid in cosmetic formulas, because they are derived of a carcinogenic product.

Silicones: why not.

Silicones are no-biodegradable, both in aerobic and anaerobic situations, they stay therefore in the environment, creating a health issue for the consumers, giving the fact that some silicones have been withdrew from the market, because able to damage the respiratory system. Dermatologists are witnessing more and more intolerance and reactivities cases to products rich in silicones. They can cause local reactivity, dryness, desquamation and follicular enlargement.

What are the ingredients more “at risk” for environmental friendly and biocompatible cosmetology contained in normal cosmetics?

The high presence of bactericidal substances in daily use cosmetics is a risk for mankind. Many synthetic substances such as imidazolidinyl urea, diazolidiny1 urea, sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate, benzylhemiformal, 2-bromo-2nitropropane- I, 3-diol, DMDM Hydantoin, contained in daily use cosmetics are substances able to release formaldehyde. Triclosan is a different case. It has a high bactericidal power, it is ubiquitous, in particular in toothpastes and deodorants. This substance was under investigation by Swedish Government, that was able to find it everywhere, even in breast milk, causing wide alarm.
