It will be a while before Bill Reid’s position as executive director at the Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce is taken. As secretary Norma Brown put it, “They’re not easy shoes to fill.” Reid’s memorial is scheduled for noon on Saturday, June 15, at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre – fittingly, in the heart of Cloverdale – at 6188 176th St. Reid passed away May 28 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Brown said Reid’s duties will be split among the chamber’s members, but added that the board won’t be the same without him. Likewise, it will be a challenge to fill his position as vice-president of the Cloverdale Business Improvement Association. The BIA’s executive director, Paul Orazietti, said the board of directors will likely make that decision at the next annual general meeting, about a month away.
