Friday Fridge Notes January 14, 2011 th
This coming Monday, January 17 , is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Gailer School traditionally celebrates this day as Democracy Day with any number of events. This year, students will be presenting their Community Service Projects in which they have been engaged for the last two Macros. Michael Fisher, State Representative for Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton and Starksboro, will visit the school and speak to the Gailer Community on Democracy and his role as a State Rep. We will also share an informal pot-luck lunch. Parents, friends and families are invited for any part of, or the entire day! Some students will be displaying their work visually and others will be giving presentations. If your child is presenting, and you would like to attend, please e-mail Diane Guertin at: dianeg@gailer.org and she will schedule their presentation at a time that is convenient for you. We are asking all students to bring something to share with everyone for lunch, and hope that we end up with more than just bread and cheese! Please join us!
Announcements We want to thank alum Hanna Mosenthal for all of the work she put into creating the College Guide for Gailer Families. This is an invaluable tool for parents and students alike as they begin to think about the prospect of attending college. Thank you for helping us with this all important task, Hanna! Copies are available at the front desk. A reminder to the parents of students who are taking the cooking class: the fee for ingredients is $25 per student. Please make out your checks to The Gailer School and send them in to Kitty. Thanks! Gailer Skiers! Please remember to bring in your ski fees every Wednesday for the Thursday Skiing Master Class! Monday, the 24th of January, is an In-service Day for the Gailer faculty and staff. There are no classes for students that day.
