The Strathearn Gallery 30th Anniversary Exhibition

Opening Saturday 13th July at 10am

We’re in a celebratory mood this exhibition, as 2024 marks 30 years since the Strathearn Gallery first opened its doors.

In 1994, Owen and Edith Maguire had just moved back to Crieff from South East Asia and founded the gallery to run (along with daughter Fiona) “for just a few years” until Owen and Edith retired. That retirement didn’t come along for another 19 years which was when, in 2013, the Maguires sold the gallery and the reins were taken on by us.

Fast forward another 11 years to today and we’re delighted the gallery continues to go from strength to strength, being one of the largest contemporary art galleries in Scotland. We’ve shown (and continue to show) art from a huge range of the most talented artists working today.

Owen and Edith are sadly no longer with us, but we’re always extremely grateful for the help, support and advice the Maguire family provided in our early days. We wouldn’t be where we are today without their help and we’re very proud we’ve continued the traditions of the Strathearn Gallery in showcasing Scottish Art.

The last 11 years have been extremely enjoyable and we feel very lucky to be constantly surrounded by so much beautiful art – we look forward to many more years to come and would like to thank you all for your support, without which the Strathearn Gallery wouldn’t be where it is today!

This exhibition is a mixed show featuring many of the artists that have supported the gallery over the last 30 years, so we warmly invite you, your friends and family to join us at the opening and celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Best wishes,

Susan and Scott and the Strathearn Gallery team
