Tuition Waivers: NSU awarded almost $5 million in tuition waivers last year! This scholarship waives a specified amount of a student’s tuition costs. Fees are charged separately from tuition, and are therefore not covered by this type of award.

Foundation Scholarships: The Foundation awarded than $688,000 in $ more scholarships last year! These scholarships, including the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, are privately funded awards from NSU’s Foundation. The money from these awards can apply towards any charges on a student’s account.

Housing Waivers: This scholarship waives a specified amount of a student’s on campus housing costs.
Outside Scholarships: Money that comes from outside of NSU can be awarded in many different ways. Those donors have control over the way in which their money is applied, and NSU will apply the funding accordingly.

Oklahoma’s Promise: This state funding is calculated according to NSU’s tuition costs and the student’s enrollment in any given semester. The awards are figured based on a student’s cost of attendance and financial need. Funding from Oklahoma’s Promise can be combined with NSU scholarships.

Course Description The PEC Basic Orientation safety awareness course includes both SafeGulf and SafeLand. PEC Basic was designed to take the place of multiple operator orientations and to give each student a general idea of life and safety issues in the oil and gas industry, upstream, downstream, onshore or offshore. This one-day program meets API RP 75 & API RP T-1 requirements and provides a basic understanding at an awareness level of certain general safety information that an employee should know before entering a company facility and while performing the assigned work duties. Over 25 of the leading oil and gas operators accept this orientation as it meets their requirements. Upon successful completion of course, each student is issued a picture ID with a unique barcode. The student information is then stored in an online database.
