Loyol a Academy Second Century Campaig n
SECOND CENTURY RESERVE FUND FUNDRAISING GOAL:
$ 10 M I L L I O N
What is the Second Century Reserve Fund? It is one of six initiatives in the Second Century Campaign — an ambitious fundraising effort that will position Loyola Academy as the nation’s leading Jesuit, college-preparatory, faith and education center for the 21st century. When fully funded, this unrestricted cash reserve will give us the liquidity and financial flexibility we need to respond to unforeseen circumstances, meet unanticipated expenses and seize opportunities for growth and expansion.
Why is this initiative the cornerstone of the Second Century Campaign? Jesuit education — with its emphasis on a comprehensive curriculum and cura personalis (care for the individual) — is an expensive proposition in today’s world. To carry on the Jesuit tradition of excellence while fulfilling the mission of educating the whole person, too many Jesuit schools must make the difficult choice between funding daily operations and building a sufficient reserve fund. Just as profit-sector businesses cannot function without working capital, Jesuit schools like Loyola Academy need unrestricted operating reserves. The importance of building an adequate reserve fund for Loyola Academy cannot be overstated.
