1.

CULTURAL AND HERITAGE MUSEUM THANJAVUR.

LOCATION Thanjavur, the capital city for most of the kings that ruled south India once flourished with rich culture, art, literature, music, and dance. The architecture was one of the most explored art forms. But, over the years these architectural wonders lost their importance. To revive the lost importance to the town, the government of Thanjavur proposed a heritage walk and the project would be an addition to the proposed heritage walk path.

BRIEF The site would house a heritage and cultural museum that would sit right next to the palace, as an extension to house all the artifacts and apparel. This project would pave way for the tourists to enjoy the architecture throughout the walk and end with a summary of everything they have seen. The museum will also cater to the locals and neighbors. The museum would be an amalgamation of traditional and contemporary architecture to become an icon itself and cater to the current era.

ARTISAN REVIVAL CENTRE BANGALORE

LOCATION Tank bund road, Bangalore is one of the busiest parts of the city. Once a hot spot for all commercial activities the capital was cotton retail and merchandise which was run by the Mysore kings initially and was then taken over by the British to produce cotton and woolen clothes. The area had around 5 mills and the last standing mill was the binny mills that provided a livelihood for the nearby locals. but, after the shut down of the mills, the locals were left unemployed and the craftsmanship was lost .

BRIEF The site would house a Centre to revive the lost craftsmen ship in cotton, wool, and silk, an educational institute to empower people about the cotton roots in Bangalore, and a production unit to employ the workers of binny mills to keep the crafts alive. This project would pave way for the locals to understand the art and would also allow the unemployed people and the youth to build a future for themselves. The revival center would act as a hotspot and get back the importance to the site and the neighborhood which existed when binny mill was functioning.
