CA Pujara became the first batter to score a double century (201*) on his Sussex debut, in the second innings against Derbyshire at Derby, having scored 6 in the first innings.

CA Pujara scored three double centuries during the season for Sussex. Only KS Ranjitsinhji, with five in 1900, and CB Fry, who scored four in 1901, exceeded him. During his innings of 198 against Glamorgan at Hove, AGH Orr hit ten sixes. This equalled the Sussex record set in 1912 by HL Simms against Nottinghamshire at Hove.
