Various dates in Sep South Hill Barn Seaford Art Exhibition

11th to 26th September, Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 5pm, Evening events on the 11th, 16th and 24th at 6pm Cultural events at Cuckmere Haven have highlighted the importance of this magnificent seascape.

This year, South Hill Barn at Seaford is the venue for a major art exhibition to once again celebrate Cuckmere Haven. An artists’ open call brought in more than 200 submissions from paintings and prints to sculpture and textiles, all inspired by this most unique and special place. Crawley Museum

Open Thursday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4pm Crawley Museum is an independent local history museum housed in a medieval building. The galleries boast items representing Crawley through the centuries including a 1903 Rex For Car and a Bronze Age Sword.

This summer’s temporary exhibition by Crawley Arts Society closes Saturday 25th September. From Thursday 30th September an exhibition by museum regulars Diverse Crawley and Crawley Campaign Against Racism will profile the town’s diversity and togetherness.

Fri 10 to Sun 26 Sep Golden Rye Arts Festival

Friday 10th to Sunday 26th September The 2021 Rye Arts Festival is offering a packed programme of over 60 events! East Sussex’s biggest multiarts offers world class artistes, with everything from opera to English folk music by way of jazz and choral singing. Drama and film are on the menu and the books and talks will feature themed Rye Crime and Rye Spy days as well as Rev Richard Coles and Gyles Brandreth!

‘Made in Isfield’ - Part of Artwave 2021

Saturday 11th September, 11am to 6pm & Sunday 12th September, 11am to 5pm ‘Made in Isfield’ is a collective of 14 Artists and Makers exhibiting at Isfield Village Hall for Artwave 2021.

Contemporary ceramics and sculpture, beautiful textiles and bespoke jewellery, local renowned painters, printmakers and photographer.

‘Made in Isfield’ is no.15 on the Artwave trail, there are 2 other venues in the village as well as a thriving local pub and idyllic walks by the River Ouse. Tangmere Military Aviation Museum

Open Daily 10am to 5pm Tangmere Military Aviation Museum is located in a corner of the old Tangmere airfield, famed as an RAF fighter station from 1918 until Fighter Command left in 1958.

It was opened by a group of aviation enthusiasts in 1982 with the aim of promoting public awareness of the UK’s military aviation heritage, educating present and future generations in military aviation, and serving as a memorial to airmen and airwomen who gave their lives in the service of this country. The Museum is now managed and run entirely by volunteers. In 2017 was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Now one of the UK’s leading aviation museums, it is home to an impressive display of historic aircraft with a unique collection of aviation memorabilia stretching from WWI through to the Cold War. Amongst the many attractions, there are numerous interactive displays and aircraft cockpits and simulators for visitors to experience.
