Extracts from the minutes of the Full Council (6th June) and General Purposes Committee (13th June) meetings.

General

Consideration was given to using grant funding for purchase of assets such as Wandleys Copse for preservation. The Clerk will consult regarding whether this is permitted.

Section 137 Grant Applications will be invited in October for consideration in November.

The Clerk is retiring on 31st August.

Fontwell

Updated costs for a replacement bus shelter similar to Walberton’s will be obtained.

The Community Building will be named the Ball’s Hut Community Building.

The paint specification and cost of repainting the phone box will be researched.

A meeting will be arranged with WSCC and Southern Water to discuss proactive maintenance for

the drainage in Barnham Lane.

A request to WSCC for an EV charging point in the Village Hall car park has been made previously; its progress is to be checked.

Landbuild are unable to complete work on the pond in the short to medium term. An alternative strategy to stabilise the wall and reduce leakage will be undertaken.

Remedial work on the eastern trees was approved. An ecological survey will be required before northern boundary work can take place. A presentation concerning the rebound goal was received; one will be purchased for installation. An update was received regarding the path. A quote for a Green Waste bin will be sought.
