Edited extracts from draft minutes of the Parish Council Meeting 20th February 2023.

District Councillor reports – This year there is a requirement for photo ID for election. Certified ID is available from Chichester District Council (CDC) for anyone with no acceptable form of ID. Housing number requirement covers a period from 2021-2039, so some may already have been built. SDNP Local Plan currently being reviewed. SDNPA likely to refuse Amen Yard - asked if anything more Council can do as strong local feeling about loss of this as business site – advised strong evidence required to swing decision. Dog Walking/Training group on Hesworth Common - After discussion, agreed Clerk would write and say that whilst dog walking is allowed, commercial enterprises not permitted due to sensitive nature of site. On the day in question there were more than 4 dogs in the group on that occasion and some people find it disconcerting to walk through a group of dogs, and there is insufficient parking spaces for that number of people.

Working Groups - Maintenance Working Group –Sculpture – Base cost not budgeted for. Proposed resolution to transfer £1000 from 23/24 Tree works budget to Village Maintenance budget to pay for base. Clerk will respond to SDNP on Trash screen completion certificate. Inspected soil disposal in Alley Dick, will tidy it up and concreted finger post in School Lane at Alley Dick. Hesworth Common Management Working Group – Defra policy will only fund capital works, not revenue, so only useful if extending Heathland area. However, extended funding required for maintainance. To meet with Colin Headley who did last 3-year plan. Meeting SDNP and others to discuss funding. Could Council use CIL money? Hesworth Management and tree warden positions needed. Environmental Land management. Suggested Kings Coronation Big Help Out event on 8th May could be used to attract management and maintenance participation. Maybe a meeting at Trig point to try to attract volunteers. www.fittleworth-pc.org.uk
