You can view appointment availability online and you will see that we only ever book appointments up a few days in advance. So, please contact us from MONDAYS (not before) for appointments on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY of the following week; and from THURSDAYS (not before), for appointments on MONDAYS and TUESDAYS. Appointment times are at 11, 12, 2pm and 3pm.
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES Most projects recruit all year round and we have over 250 volunteering opportunities registered with us. COMMUNITY PROJECTS ON CAMPUS! Every now and again we invite projects registered with us onto campus to talk directly to students about their volunteering opportunities. This is a great opportunity for you to find out more about volunteering with these specific projects. This term we have arranged the following:
1) Project Name: The Children’s Society Befriending Service
Volunteering Role: To befriend young disabled people aged 12-18 yrs old, spend time getting to know them and developing a good relationship with them, and help them to identify, share and enjoy new interests. Time Commitment: A minimum of 2-4 hours per week for a year. Would suit you if …. Have an interest and enthusiasm for working with young people, would like to develop your skills & experience in supporting people and knowledge of disability issues. If interested, come along to one or both of the following: a)
Information stall Thursday 28th October 11am – 2pm Foyer of Falmer House.
b)
Short presentation and Question & Answer session Friday 29th October 11-12am Students’ Union Meeting Room (top floor of South-East corner of Falmer House).
PROJECT V CLOSURE DAY On Wednesday 10th November, please note that we will be closed in order to attend the NUS (National Union of Students) and UCL (University and College Union – a staff trade union) organised ‘Fund Our Future: Stop Education Cuts’ demonstration. We urge you to come and make history with us! This sort of thing doesn't happen every day and will be a major landmark in Higher Education history. Students from all over the UK will be coming to London so make sure your friends from other universities come and join us on our big day out in London.
