TRANSFORMING THE WORLD IN THE NEXT 15 YEARS PARIS, DECEMBER 6, 2015 MARKS THE START OF A NEW GLOBAL BUSINESS VENTURE.
ACT I:
In collaboration with The UN Global Compact, we launch a global search for the entrepreneurs who can transform the Sustainable Development Goals into new opportunities and business ventures within the next 15 years.
The mission: to turn the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals into new opportunities for sustainable growth. The strategy: to map and connect the solutions, entrepreneurs, and innovators who can build the sustainable world of tomorrow. The newly adopted UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) give us exactly 15 years to tackle challenges ranging from eradicating poverty and hunger to limiting the effects of climate change. Reaching the 17 goals will not only mean solving the world’s biggest challenges, but also creating the most spectacular opportunities for the future. When we stand at the finish line 15 years from now, we will have in our hands the recipe for a sustainable world and a shared understanding of what it means to be a leader in it. Reaching the SDGs will mean new business models, new types of policy makers and solutions, and new leadership. NOW WE BEGIN THE SEARCH FOR THE NEW GENERATION OF INNOVATORS, ENTREPRENEURS, AND DREAMERS WHO, IN THE NEXT 15 YEARS, CAN CHALLENGE CURRENT UNSUSTAINABLE PRACTICES AND CREATE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MODELS.
TURNING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS INTO BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
ACT II:
FASHION, FOOD AND FILM AS ARENAS OF SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION Sustainable development is happening in a variety of sectors, and solutions cannot be kept in the traditional silos. In this session you will learn how fashion, food, and film could be the role models for the next generation of innovative solutions.
ACT III:
THE TALE OF 100 SUSTAINABLE CITIES In cities all over the world, a nearly limitless number of innovative and cutting-edge solutions designed to address the far-reaching and ever-growing impacts of climate change already exist. C40 and Sustainia launch Cities100 - a catalogue of 100 city solutions for climate actions.
GRAND FINALE: SUSTAINIA AWARD CEREMONY The Sustainia Award is an annual international award given to a solution or project with significant potential to help build a more sustainable future.
