Trecovery programme in 2017/18 was to restore livelihood of earthquake affected families by supporting producer groups and cooperatives to provide access to productive infrastructure, inputs, finance, market and income-generating opportunities at local level. Gorkha, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading and Nuwakot districts incorporated interventions designed for rural context focusing on agrarian community whereas the Kathmandu Valley embedded rural, peri-urban and urban priorities focused towards creating employment opportunities.

Producer groups were trained and provided with modern tools and equipment for farming that reduced women farmers’ workload. This programme conducted training on improved farming techniques and supported them in the rehabilitation of production infrastructure such as irrigation canals, collection centers and processing units. Likewise, cooperatives’ capacities were strengthened for business plan preparation and implementation of new enterprises.
