world since a long time, but it gained popularity in recent years after the smart phones have dominated the mobile market. Till date there have been many selfies but the most trending selfie, according to S. Vaikundarajan, was Ellen DeGeneres star studded Oscar selfie which had Hollywood stars like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bradley Cooper, Meryl streep, Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Lawrence. This image had the highest number of retweets and favorites of 2.17 million times and 1.04 million times respectively. This image broke the selfie record of Barack Obama’s picture with his first lady Michelle Obama of 7,80,579 re-tweets.

The concept of selfie is not only limited to Hollywood stars, but also bollywood stars who click and upload selfies on a greater extent. Stars like Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhat and many more, click images of their daily workings and upload them on social networking sites. For everybody selfie is about projecting what one feels. It gives others a chance to know what is happening in everybody’s daily life and when it comes to bollywood stars it lets their fans get a small insight about

their favorite stars personal life. Slefie, now, is slowly making everybody’s life public.
