Vaikundarajan Celebrates International Men’s Day

November 19 is marked as “International Men’s Day”. The objectives of this day is to focus on the health of men and boys, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality and highlighting positive male role models.

It is an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions, in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care while highlighting the discrimination against them, shares Vaikundarajan.

There are a lot of sacrifices made by men everyday at their workplace, in their role as a husband, father and others towards their families, for their friends, for their communities and for their nation. International Men's Day is an opportunity for people everywhere of goodwill to appreciate and celebrate the men in their lives and the contribution they make to society for the greater good of all.

There are different way to celebrate “International Men's Day”, like through public seminars, conferences, fundraisers, classroom activities at schools, radio and television programs. To observe this day is optional, in organizations different events are held or appropriate forums are used.

International Men's Day is celebrated in over 60 countries of the world, added Vaikundarajan. On the eve of International Men’s Day let say thanks to the men and boys around us for their contribution.
