ADITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS: Additional onsite improvements include: • The construction of new surface parking for 62 parking spaces (42,315 SF.) with dedicated ingress/egress through Penrose Street and Sunland Boulevard.

•T he construction of a city mandated water retention system and a new courtyard area of approximately 6,266 SF.

EDA Nursing Project This project is made possible by a matching grant received from the Economic Development Administration (EDA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

EDA NURSING PROJECT PURPOSE The purpose of this project is “to promote innovation and competitiveness in preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.”

OBJECTIVE Our objective is to improve the overall quality of life of our residents by creating and providing this community with a total of 765 new health care professionals over a nine-year period.

We want our graduates to be able to attain financial stability in order to contribute to the overall development of this community.

PROJECT COMPONENTS The approved scope of the work for this project includes: • Property acquisition for the land and buildings located at 9000 Sunland Blvd and 10833 Penrose Street in Sun Valley, CA. • Structural retrofitting to the existing structure at 9000 Sunland Blvd. and construction of tenant improvements.

• New construction of additional supporting space for the operation of the nursing program.

PROJECT FEATURES: 3 Classrooms (1 lecture room, 1 health assessment lab, 1 skills lab) • 6 Simulation rooms with control room • Conference/Debriefing room • Reception area • Offices and administrative spaces • Storage closets and changing rooms - 10 student bathrooms - Student lounge area and study room - MEP rooms and Tel/Com room •
