head of school

Our mission Hello SVC Community, As I reflect upon our mission at Saddleback Valley Christian and all that God has done at and through our school this year, I am drawn to one of my favorite passages of scripture, Colossians 3:15-17. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” I love this charge from Paul to the church; to do everything as if working for the Lord and to live in a spirit of grace and peace. And, I love that I get to work in a place where this is on display every single day. We see this demonstrated each day in our classrooms. We hear it echo from the music room and the stage of the Christmas program. We feel it as we walk through the halls or hang out with our students at lunchtime. We cheer for it at our athletic events. We share it with our students on retreat. SVC is a place of peace and grace, where Christ is honored as we strive for excellence every day, in everything we do. In this, our 20th year of existence, we have so much for which to be thankful. We are thankful for the hearts of our founders and the sacrifices that were made 20 years ago to start a school committed to the education and discipleship of the next generation, where all students can pursue their passions and strive to worship God with all of their gifts. We are thankful for our dedicated faculty, staff, and administration who are committed to this vocation. We are thankful for the relationships with our students and for the opportunity to play a small part in their growth and maturity. Most of all, we are thankful to God for His continued provision, protection, and guidance at SVC. Finally, we are thankful for you, our community and our supporters. Whether you have invested your time, your talent, or your treasure in SVC, you are much needed and much appreciated. We could not do what we do without you. Thank you for partnering with us in God’s mission. We hope this annual report is a glimpse into the life of our school and a reminder of how your gifts have been used this year. With Much Gratitude and Appreciation,

Erick Streelman Head of School
