Position objective:

Assist students that are disadvantaged or at risk of being disadvantaged acquire computing skills that will become a foundation for their future learning.
•
Assisting disadvantaged people (18yrs and older, men and women) within a social justice context that supports learning as a pathway to independence while respecting the rights of clients including confidentiality. Building self esteem, courage, confidence, and a sense of commitment and belonging.

Excellent computing skills Ability to instruct diverse students Ability to train in challenging circumstances i.e. keeping students engaged Ability to communicate effectively with students of a mix of education level, and personal circumstances Ability to interact easily with disadvantaged people

Train basic computing to disadvantaged students or those at risk of becoming disadvantaged.

Instructor need to be available to run a 6-8 week class, with the capacity for ongoing involvement. Ideally, available 2 days per week for a 3 hour session (one hour for set up, etc). Three to six months commitment would be greatly appreciated. Classes run from 10 am -12 and 2- 4 pm.
