What do the CERN laboratories, a tranquilliser cell in a prison, the farewell room of Dignitas, the dark room of a swingers club, a secret meeting room of the Federal Council or the research station in the labyrinth of rocks of the Jungfraujoch have in common? Together with art historian Catherine Iselin, photographer Kostas Maros has succeeded in photographing 25 fascinating places throughout Switzerland and portraying the people who gave them access to them. The result are over a hundred impressive images that provide a unique insight into an often unknown everyday culture and reveal the magic of the hidden places. The illustrated book is supplemented by art historical essays.
