Causes Diabetes is caused by an inability to use insulin made by the pancreas. This causes glucose to not be able to enter the body's cells; Therefore, staying in the blood stream. It is more likely in people with genetic history and those who are overweight.
Diagnosis Diabetes is most commonly diagnosed by taking a blood test in a local doctor's office.
Treatment The aim of most treatment types is to reduce the amount of glucose in the blood. This can be done through a healthy diet, exercise, and drugs that lower blood sugar.

Statistics 80% of diabetes patients can be treated with a healthy diet and exercise. Over 90% of diabetes patients suffer from Type 2 diabetes. 8.3% of Americans have diabetes.
Diabetes is a very serious problem and can result in major health complications.
