BARACK OBAMA’S WHITE HOUSE MUST TAKE DOWN ANTI-INDIA PETITION The petition was filed on the White House website at a time when the Obama Administration has rolled out the red carpet for Modi’s planned US visit.

An anti-India petition, targeting Hindus in general, and the BJP and Narendra Modi in particular, replete with blatant lies and false accusations has been filed on the official website of President of the United States – WhiteHouse.Gov. The idea of this anti-India petition is to slander India as a ‘fascist state’ by making false allegations of human rights violations.

The petition has made news in the backdrop of this report in the Sunday Guardian titled ‘ISI plans to use US, UN to tar Modi’ which suggests that the Pakistani spy agency in a series of meetings held in late July and early August, decided to ‘fire from the shoulders of the US and the UN’ to tarnish the reputation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The plan is to ensure the further penetration by the ISI, and its auxiliary elements, of groups which will be used to paint India as a semi-fascist state, the report said.

The petition was filed on the White House website at a time when the Obama Administration has rolled out the red carpet for Prime Minister Modi’s planned US visit in September.

Here is an excerpt from the petition filed on the White House website: CANCEL White House Invitation To PM Modi-Organizer of 2002 Massacre of MUSLIMS. Ban BJP For 1984 Attack On Golden Temple In 2002, Indian PM Modi organized massacre of Muslims in Gujarat.

“Mobs of Hindus rampage, rape, loot and kill in a spasm of violence that rages for more than two months. Mothers are skewered, children set afire and fathers hacked to pieces. About 1,000 people, mostly Muslims, are killed. Some 20,000 Muslim homes 1

and businesses and 360 places of worship are destroyed, and roughly 150,000 people are displaced”. (New York Times Report of April 16, 2014) In June 1984, BJP instigated military attack on the Golden Temple resulting in the massacre of thousands of Sikh pilgrims.

In 2008, BJP orchestrated violence against Christians in Orissa.

Instead of hosting Modi at White House, President Obama should condemn Modi and ban BJP for perpetrating violence against Muslims, Sikhs and Christians.

It is important to read and analyse all three allegations separately. First consider the allegation related to the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom.

The petition says, “BJP instigated military attack on the Golden Temple resulting in the massacre of thousands of Sikh pilgrims.”

ISI USING WHITE HOUSE PORTAL TO DEFAME NARENDRA MODI IN US: MD NALAPAT But the factor of the matter is that it was then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who ordered Operation Blue Star – an Indian military operation in June 1984 – to flush out Sikh terrorists led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from Golden Temple in Amritsar and establish control over the sacred seat of worship of the Sikhs.

The BJP, which was a small Opposition party at that time, had no role in instigating the military operation. Further, it is pertinent to mention that Bhindranwale was a creation of Indira Gandhi.

In the aftermath of Operation Blue Star, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984. Following her death, Congress hooligans went on rampage resulting in the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom. As many as 5000 innocent Sikh men, women and children were born alive, butchered and slaughtered to death. Scores of women were raped and property worth crores were looted and set ablaze.

Now come to the allegation related to 2002 Gujarat violence. The petition went on to allege that “in 2002, Indian PM Modi organized massacre of Muslims in Gujarat.”

But the fact of the matter is that it was Sabarmati train burning in Godhra which triggered the Gujarat violence. A Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already given a clean chit to the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 Gujrat riot case. An Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court verdict has also rejected a protest petition filed by one of the victims against the SIT report.

Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court said: “No conspiracy can be proved against the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet as they showed alacrity in requisitioning the Army and took necessary steps to control the situation.

The court agrees with the SIT’s conclusions on Narendra Modi and rejects the demand that he be charged for conspiracy and abetment of crime.”

Now, come to the 2008 communal violence in Odisha’s Kandhamal, which the petition has mentioned. “In 2008, BJP orchestrated violence against Christians in Orissa,” the petition said. A section of media, both in US and India and so called ‘secular’ political parties followed the Church in blaming BJP and some ‘Hindu groups’ for 2008 Kandhamal violence. But the truth can’t be separated from the reality. Justice Sarat Chandra Mohapatra Commission in its interim report in 2009 attributed the socioeconomic problems as the prime provocation for Kandhamal violence.

Justice SC Mohapatra report said: “The violence in Kandhamal was the result of concentrated discontentment prevailing among the people since long. They relate to conversion, re-conversion; land-grabbing and non-maintenance of land records; and fake certificate issues.”

The problem is that Kandhamal’s real problems are being disregarded and there is a deliberate miscalculation in handling the issue. US based independent researcher Branon Michael Parker in his 2009 report titled ‘Kandhamal: A Fact File’ said the violent upheaval in Kandhamal is rooted in its socio-demographic history.

Branon Michael Parker report said: “A social chaos, similar to that experienced by American tribes threatened the cultural stability of the entire region.”

It is important to understand the history of Kandhamal to get a perspective. Kandhamal has two distinct inhabitants — the tribal Kandhas and the Schedule Caste Panas. Their relations have a history of turbulence.

Branon Michael Parker report said: “The problem arises, when Christian Panas are unwilling to forgo the benefits of being a member of Scheduled Caste. Not only have the Christian Panas obscured their religious identities as Christians, they have submitted fake certificates identifying themselves as members of the Kandha tribal community.”

These certificates were used to usurp land, Government and academic opportunities reserved for the Kandhas. Alienation of tribal land is the foundation of the Kandha-Pana turmoil.

Branon Michael Parker report said: “Kandhas were blatantly disinherited from their lands for generations. Another major complication related to the land issue is that posed by Christians use of encroached lands to build churches.

The Kandhas are understandably in an uproar over the loss of opportunity. A system that was designed to alleviate their poverty and social stagnation has been hijacked and their woes compounded.

The dire consequences of a trauma denied and unresolved are always sudden and explosives…It is obvious that it is a primary cause of the turmoil at the heart of Kandhamal’s crisis.”

Branon Michael Parker report very aptly said: “Various Leftists commentators, empowered by the Globalist-controlled media outlets added their illogical rationales to India’s anti-indigenous combine. It has been suggested that some among these powers have a definite role to play in the Kandhamal violence.”

More importantly, it is pertinent to note what the US State Department’s report on International Religious Freedom states on Kandhamal. “…the underlying causes that led to the violence have complex ethnic, economic, religious, and political roots related to land ownership and government-reserved employment and educational benefits.”

The above facts clearly prove beyond doubt that the petition is based on falsehoods and is malicious and ill-intentioned. This anti-India petition must be pulled down from the WhiteHouse Website by the Obama Administration.
