SWAN VILLAGE BOWLING CLUB

EMBROIDERY GROUP

The recent AGM endorsed a new committee of: Jim Leavy as president, Angie Wieman as vice president, Chris Simms as secretary, Jim Figgins as treasurer and committee members Heather Williams, Beth Tas, Barry Williams, Cecil Cahill, Dave Newlan and Len Bell.

Meet up by the fire and work on your creative projects with some sociable chatter. Please bring your own materials for embroidery, knitting, other creative projects. All welcome!

During September we farewelled Tom and Nancy Brazier from the club. Tom has been a committee member for many years, serving as president on several occasions. Nancy also served the committee for many years, several as secretary. The club wishes them the very best for their future! There will be a member’s only sausage sizzle on Wednesday 21st October. Details of future events will be posted on the club notice board closer to the relevant dates. A reminder that annual club fees are now due.

CARE CENTRES AUXILIARY The auxiliary will resume this month with the meeting being held in the auditorium and followed by a Fashion Parade from Kings Park Fashions. Residents of Rowethorpe and Bentley Park are welcome to join us for a 30 minute walk. We start at 7.30am every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. The walks are free to join and are followed by tea and coffee and a chat. A great way to make new friends! Walk at your own pace. Some stride it out while others go along at a more leisurely pace or use walking frames.

An informal get together for people who haven’t be out much or people who would like to chat and relax with friendly folks. Make new friends or meet with old ones. All welcome!

VISION IMPAIRED GROUP Are you losing your vision, and finding it harder to do those things that you’ve taken for granted all your life? Do you feel isolated and are you worried about what life holds for you in the future? Why not come along to our support group and get to know others in the same boat. You might be surprised who you come across.
