We meet on Mondays in the Activity Room on the ground floor of The Club at 12:30pm, please feel free to come down and have a cuppa and a chat. We make various craft items; all ideas and skill levels are welcome.

Seated Exercise Group This group are a healthy bunch who meet up Monday to Saturday at 9.30am in The Club to do some gentle exercises with instructional music. “The first 15 minutes is seated,” said Leona Douglas, group leader of the Seated Exercise Group. “Then the remaining 15 minutes is standing behind your chair. It’s a great class as each person can modify the exercises to suit their ability.” Leona started going to the group as she wanted to meet people at SwanCare Bentley Park. “When I moved here 12 years ago, I was looking to make friends and I thought that going to group activities was the easiest way,” said Leona. “This group was well established with people attending, so I thought I’d go too. It was great as the exercise was low impact and any of my ailments would only be helped by doing these exercises.” Leona took on the group when they were looking for their next leader. “It feels great to give back to the community by helping organise this group,” said Leona. “I was attending anyway and thought why not!” Leona and her regulars flex in numbers depending on people’s schedules. “Some days we have 20 people and other days there is around 10 of us,” said Leona. “We would love to see more regulars and non-regulars there, so if you’re looking for low impact exercise come and join us.” Once their morning exercises are done, it’s off to The Club coffee machine to get a drink and have a socially distanced chat before they start the rest of their day. “We chat for about half an hour before getting on with our day,” said Leona. “Both men and women are welcome any time. No commitment required to attend.” If you are a SwanCare Bentley Park resident and you would like to join or ask a few questions, get in touch with Leona today. When: 9:30am - 10am, Monday to Saturday Where: The Club, Leisure Precinct Contact: Leona Douglas on 0439 201 799

Fish N Chips with Friends Our Mother’s Day luncheon was a success. Jay Weston had us all in awe with his singing.
