Project Update!

Work on the West Phase, which is on the former school site, is now well under way. As part of this phase of works, we will also be building a new local park for residents, which will be located where the former contractor site was, opposite the shops. We plan to have as much of the new park open as possible by next Spring. As part of the ongoing construction across Beechwood, we have introduced parking restrictions on Churchill Avenue. This is to ensure construction site deliveries can take place. We are also reviewing possible traffic calming measures and will inform residents before these works take place.

Property Owners affected by demolition

Affected owners will now be aware if their property is due for demolition. Swan and Basildon Borough Council have started discussions with owners in the North Phase who are affected. For more information on this you can email our Homeownership Project Manager Rob Pearce on rpearce@swan.org.uk. There is also an Independent Leaseholder/ Freeholder Advisor for people who own their homes who can be contacted on 0208 6829570 or craylands@communitiesfirst.uk.com. If your property is in the South Phase, we will approach you at a later date. If you have any questions about this contact the Resident Involvment and Community Development team on 01277 844242

Competition time!

Are you age 8 to 16? Would you like to win an iPad? Join us at the Beechwood youth club on Monday evenings to take part in a wall plaque design competition for the Jordan Way meadow. Swan, working in partnership with Basildon Borough Council, has secured funding for a series of environmental improvements throughout the estate (including the open space on Jordan’s Way) and would like to give young people on the estate the opportunity to design a wall plaque for the meadow. So, those aged 8 -16 are invited to
