Project Update!
Connections
Work on the next phase of the Regeneration programme, on the former Fryerns school site, has begun and modules for the first three homes have been delivered and assembled on site. We are now working to complete their roofs and external brick skin.
Connections is a new, free Sunday afternoon get together open to all residents and families who live in the area. It will run weekly from 5-6pm at The Beech Community Hub from Sunday 4 February. Food and refreshments will be provided!
The homes in this phase will utilise the latest modern methods of construction with modules manufactured locally in Swan’s new factory and then delivered to site for assembly. Groundworks for the associated roads and drainage continue on other areas of the site. We currently expect the next phase of modules to be delivered to site in early 2018. There will be a sales launch for the new homes in the spring.
They look forward to welcoming more young people along to their club on Fridays and all residents from Sunday 4 February!
Happy New Year! The Beechwood Residents Group would like to wish all residents living on the Beechwood and Craylands estate a happy and successful New Year! 2018 promises to be an exciting year on Beechwood and Craylands as we see the physical transformation of the estate progress towards the west phase of the redevelopment. This year, why not make it your New Year’s resolution to become a volunteer and get more involved in your local community? Resident group members have the opportunity to influence decisions about the management and maintenance of the estate as well as access to training. New members are always welcome. Most recently, the Beechwood Resident’s Group organised a Christmas Party held at The Beech Community Hub for residents.

Connections is run by Betty and Alan Bliss from the Wickford Christian Centre. They also run a popular club for children on Friday afternoons. This club started 14 years ago in the old community hall and now meets weekly at The Beech Community Hub.
Motivated Minds Children received gifts from Father Christmas and had their faces painted, whilst everyone enjoyed listening to a selection of seasonal sing-along favourites with music provided by one of the resident group volunteers. We would like to thank everyone who got involved and made this and all of last year’s events possible, even if you just came along and joined us, you made a significant contribution to your local community! If you would like more information on how you can get involved, call Swan’s RICD Team on 01277 844242 or email involvement@ swan.org.uk
