We’re one of Wales’ bestloved and busiest theatres. Our mission is to provide you, our patrons, with the best theatrical experience possible every time you visit. To make sure that future generations also have the chance to enjoy all the events at the Grand, we have a Restoration Fund to refurbish key areas of the theatre. The fund amounts to a contribution of an extra 50p per ticket which will be your investment in the future of your local theatre. The fund will begin in January 2013. Keep an eye on our website www.swanseagrand.co.uk and Front of House boards for more details of how the money will be spent. If you would like to make an additional donation, please send a cheque to: Restoration Fund, Swansea Grand Theatre, Singleton St, Swansea, SA1 3QJ

Dedication Plaques If you want to play an even bigger role in the campaign, there’s also an opportunity to purchase a dedication plaque to be placed on one of the seats in the main auditorium for 10 years. It could be a fantastic present or a lasting memento for a loved one. Please see our website for full details. Seat dedications cost £250. The first plaque was bought by the musical theatre youth group, The Sir Harry Secombe Trust Fund, as a tribute to the great man himself. We’d like to thank you in advance for your continued support to help us raise these essential funds.

THE NICK ROSS ORCHESTRA

THINK FLOYD

The lights soften, the mood settles. The audience waits for that first moment of sound…the murmured notes of Moonlight Serenade and the night, it seems, is suddenly full and timeless. There are those who watch and listen and tap a shy finger to the melodies, others who follow with a silent foot-beat and those who simply permit a fleeting smile. But common to all are memories. Recapture the sounds of a bygone era as the Nick Ross Orchestra presents an unmissable evening of music and song – the classic Big Band sound of the 1940s.

This extraordinary show, dubbed the Definitive Pink Floyd Experience, is renowned for its stunning celebration of one of the world's greatest musical phenomena.

LIVE IN CONCERT

Now in their twentieth year, the incredibly talented musicians who make up Think Floyd have managed to faithfully recreate all the atmosphere, visual magnitude and musical excellence of Pink Floyd live on stage. It's no wonder they have long been regarded as the UK's finest tribute to Pink Floyd.

CHRIS ADDISON

BILLY FURY

The Soldiers created history by being the first group of serving soldiers to hit the British pop charts. They are soldiers first and foremost, having served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait. They are real life heroes, have several medals between them and can be called up at any time.

THE TIME IS NOW, AGAIN The star of The Thick of It, and Mock the Week brings his twice extended, critically acclaimed tour, The Time Is Now, Again, to Swansea Grand Theatre.

ANNIVERSARY TOUR On January 28th 1983, the world lost a great entertainer with the death of Billy Fury. Now thirty years on from that sad day, this sensational show pays tribute to him.

HALF-TERM TREAT

SPRING AWAKENING ROMEO & JULIET BY FRANK WEDEKIND, TRANSLATED BY EDWARD BOND Set in Germany in 1891, Spring Awakening attacks the sexually oppressive culture of the time. Fifteen-year-old Melchior is chased out of town for acts of hedonistic, lewd and despicable moral character. Wendla, his fourteen-yearold love, dies during a tragic abortion thrust upon her by narrow-minded parents. Crushed by Wendla's death and persecuted by the authorities (and even his own parents) Melchior battles through purgatory. Contains nudity and scenes of a sexual nature. 14+ with an adult, 16+ otherwise.

“VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDS...” Sun and moon shine down on the star-crossed lovers as they hide their passion and sexuality from their warring families and their closest friends. Misadventure, family pride and ancient quarrels abort and bury the most joyous of beginnings, the most hopeful of love stories as Romeo and Juliet, driven apart, find their world becoming a constricting, single mausoleum of fate and death.

Adapted by Stephen Mallatratt From the novel by Susan Hill

THE WOMAN IN BLACK THE MOST TERRIFYING LIVE THEATRE EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD! Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, The Woman in Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. The formula delivers an evening of unremitting drama, transporting the audience into a terrifying and ghostly world. A lawyer engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make-believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep...

HOBSON’S CHOICE A HILARIOUS CLASSIC COMEDY BY HAROLD BRIGHOUSE Henry Horatio Hobson is a wealthy widower with three daughters, two of whom he will gladly marry off, but he considers the eldest, Maggie, being over thirty, to be well past it, and that she should remain at home and care for him. His handmade boot and shoe shop is a great local success, but this success is down to the skills of Willie Mossop, seemingly gormless, but brilliant when it comes down to making boots down in his dark cellar. All seems well for the overbearing Hobson who spends most his time boozing himself into oblivion in the nearby Moonrakers pub, but the determined Maggie has other plans…

RAPE OF THE FAIR COUNTRY By Alexander Cordell adapted by Manon Eames Director Tim Baker Designer Mark Bailey Compelling drama that captures a family's role in their nation's turbulent past. It is 1826. The Mortymers are a Welsh family caught in the bitter crossfire between their English employers and the early trade union movement in South Wales. Moments of warm humour and great poignancy abound as we are swept from the fiery hell of the furnaces to the icy stillness of a Welsh mountainside and on to bloody scenes of rebellion. Clwyd Theatr Cymru return to Swansea following their recent visits with acclaimed productions of As You Like It, Guys and Dolls and To Kill A Mockingbird.
