THE ILLEGAL EAGLES

The 60s group, Manfred Mann, is now considered one of the finest and most respected bands from that decade. Their numerous pop hits were R&B based with an undercurrent of jazz; a very unusual, but winning combination of playing style and substance. As a result, their records have a timeless quality and, some fifty three years on, The Manfreds, with original front man, Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits, along with a mix of jazz and blues songs, from some of their bestknown albums.

Now established as the world’s official number one Eagles tribute, The Illegal Eagles continue to amaze crowds everywhere with their extremely tight harmonies and acute attention to detail.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, And Then There Were None returns to the stage to follow in the footsteps of the company’s hugely successful Witness for the Prosecution and Black Coffee. Starring Colin Buchanan, from Dalziel and Pascoe, Neil Stacy, best known as Robert Cochran in the ITV sitcom Duty Free, Deborah Grant, who starred in Not Going Out, Peak Practice and Bergerac, 60s pop idol Mark Wynter, TV favourite Mark Curry, Ben Nealon from ITV’s awardwinning Soldier Soldier, Kezia Burrows, best known as Cath Llewellyn in the BBC drama series Crash and Eric Carte from Bouquet of Barbed Wire. A group of ten strangers are lured to a remote island off the coast of Devon. Upon arrival it is discovered that their host, an eccentric millionaire, is missing. Stranded on the island by a torrential storm and haunted by an ancient nursery rhyme, one by one the guests begin to die! With only the fallen believed to be innocent who amongst them is the killer? DREAMBOATS AND MINISKIRTS Inspired by the phenomenal range of multi-million selling albums of Dreamboats and Petticoats. It’s 1963 and the world is changing. Bobby and Laura’s first single Dreamboats and Petticoats went to the top of the charts - but they haven’t been able to repeat that success with any further records. Norman and Sue have settled down to non-marital bliss – and a baby! But Ray and Donna seem blissfully happy… The advent of the Beatles and the Merseyside sound is inspirational. But will it inspire Bobby and Laura to have one more shot at stardom, Norman to “get off the drains” and find that singing voice he has longed for, and Ray to realise his ambition and manage a really top pop act?! All will be revealed in a follow-up with the same wit, charm, and great songs as Dreamboats and Petticoats. Many of the songs are from the next period in pop history.

G4 - THE REUNION TOUR Featuring Soprano Rebecca Newman and the Rock Choir G4 set an exciting trend by bringing classical music to British reality TV screens for the first time in 2004 with their performance of Nessun Dorma. However, it was their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody that became their signature tune, storming the charts in 2005. In 2007, after three albums, over two million album sales and five sell-out tours, they decided to disband to follow individual interests. This Reunion Tour was inspired by the overwhelming response to G4’s ten year reunion concert at the Barbican last November.

THE SIGNALMAN & THE WAITING ROOM A lavish presentation of two spine-tingling masterpieces. Set in 1880, Charles Dicken’s The Signalman is the exquisitely unnerving tale of a tormented signalman who is haunted by visions of impending disaster on his isolated stretch of line. This is paired with the World Stage Premiere of Robert Aickman’s The Waiting Room, set in the 1950s. Having missed his connection, George Pendlebury is forced to spend a night alone in Casterton’s old station waiting room. He awakes late at night to discover he may not be alone... ACHIEVING GOALS We all feel as though we’re under pressure, all of the time. But what’s it really like for the professionals; people who face the challenges of performing at the highest levels in front of an audience? In a unique event, co-produced by Swansea International Festival and Swansea Grand Theatre, a panel of top sports people and musicians come together to discuss their strategies for delivering success under extreme pressure. Chaired by Kevin Johns and featuring a Q & A session with the audience.

THE CLASSIC BUSKERS AND NEIL HENRY MUSICAL MAGIC The Classic Buskers and Neil Henry, working with top comedy director, Mark Tinkler of the English Pocket Opera Company, have created a brand new show in which the Buskers’ wit and musical virtuosity on over forty instruments is combined with the often unbelievable tricks and illusions of one of Britain’s best-known magicians. This collaboration is magical in every sense of the word. Instruments appear and disappear, birds, and of course, a rabbit or two do highly unexpected things.
