OUR SPRING TIP Set a goal that will motivate you – easier said than done, but before you step into the gym, you need to know why you are doing it and what you hope to achieve. Do you want to build muscle and weight? Do you want to lose weight and tone? Without knowing what you want to achieve, there is little chance that you will get it, and you will probably give up your routine before you achieve anything. It helps to have your goals in writing, so before you go to bed tonight, get a pen and piece of paper and write down exactly how you want your body to change. Tear out a picture of the way you want to look from a magazine and put it on your bathroom mirror so you can see it every day! If you achieve your goal – don’t forget to tell us. For information on how to get the best out of your time in the gym, just ask one of our instructors next time you come in for a training plan.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT @ PENLAN Get some family time on a Saturday night from 4.00pm – 8.00pm at Penlan. Enjoy kayaking, traverse wall, badminton, swimming and table tennis for just £10 for the whole family.

This issue we will profile one of our gym instructors… Name: Matthew Chilvers Centre you work at: Penlan Leisure Centre Fitness classes you teach: I teach Group Cycling, Kettlebell and Circuits. Your favourite class to teach and why: I love teaching Kettlebell because it is functional training and will improve the areas that are often un-used in regular training such as, glutes and hamstrings and inner core muscles which are needed in everyday life. How long have you worked at Active Swansea: I have worked for Active Swansea for 11 years but I have been a member of the Fitness Team for 4 Years. You favourite thing about working at Active Swansea: Helping customers to achieve their goals. Whether it be weight loss or muscle building or to see them feel better about themselves.
