Welcome / Croeso The Glynn Vivian team wishes you a very happy 2016, which promises to be a really special year as we look forward to welcoming you back to the newly redeveloped Gallery. We are pleased to be working at the Gallery, where we are all busy planning exciting future programmes for the relaunch in Autumn 2016. As part of our continuing offsite programme over the last three years, we commissioned seven Welsh artists to reflect on the Gallery’s transition and renewal, and we are delighted to present a selection of their insights in our forthcoming exhibition, The Book Project, at Swansea College of Art. Our free community programmes also continue to be based at the YMCA and other venues in the city centre, including artist talks and workshops for adults, children and families. We are especially pleased to welcome two new artists to our Artist in Residence studio space at the YMCA, with award-winning Swansea author, Joe Dunthorne, and artist, Cheon Pyo Lee, in support of his research residency for the Canal & River Trust, funded by the Arts Council of Wales. We hope you will enjoy our activities in the new year, and we offer you our warmest thanks for your support whilst we have been offsite, and as we reach the final stages of the redevelopment with the Gallery soon to be open again.

Mae Tîm Glynn Vivian yn dymuno 2016 hapus i chi, sy’n nodi blwyddyn arbennig iawn o’n blaenau wrth i ni edrych ymlaen at eich croesawu’n ôl i’r oriel ar ei newydd wedd. Rydyn ni’n falch ein bod ni bellach yn gweithio o’r oriel, lle rydyn ni’n brysur yn cynllunio rhaglenni cyffrous ar gyfer y dyfodol, yn barod am y digwyddiad ail-lansio yn hydref 2016. Fel rhan o’n rhaglen oddi ar y safle barhaol dros y tair blynedd diwethaf, comisiynon ni saith artist o Gymru i fyfyrio ar waith trawsnewid ac adnewyddu’r oriel, ac rydyn ni wrth ein boddau cyflwyno detholiad o’u mewnwelediadau yn yr arddangosfa sydd ar ddod, Y Prosiect Llyfr, yng Ngholeg Celf Abertawe. Mae ein rhaglenni cymunedol am ddim hefyd yn parhau yn y YMCA a lleoliadau eraill yng nghanol y ddinas, gan gynnwys sgyrsiau artist a gweithdai i oedolion, plant a theuluoedd. Rydyn ni’n falch iawn o groesawu dau artist newydd i’n lle stiwdio artist preswyl yn y YMCA, gyda’r awdur arobryn o Abertawe, Joe Dunthorne, a’r artist Cheon Pyo Lee, wrth gefnogi ei ymchwil breswyl ar gyfer yr Ymddiriedolaeth Camlesi ac Afonydd, wedi’i hariannu gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru. Rydyn ni’n gobeithio y byddwch yn mwynhau’n gweithgareddau yn y flwyddyn newydd, ac rydyn ni’n diolch yn fawr i chi am eich cefnogaeth tra’n bod wedi bod oddi ar y safle ac, wrth i ni gyrraedd camau olaf gwaith ailddatblygu’r oriel a fydd yn ailagor yn fuan.
