Making a Better Swansea for Children and Young People
Multi-Agency Networking Event 26th May 2011 Workshops The workshops are designed to have a balance between giving information and providing an opportunity for discussion and questions. Restorative Practice Family Learning Signature The Family Learning Signature is an engaging and easy-to-apply tool, designed to enable a family to identify and define their learning strengths, opportunities and areas where they may need support. This workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn more about the Family Learning Signature that is currently being used in the prevention and early intervention areas.
My World Assessment and Team Around the Family The ‘My World Assessment’ has replaced the Common Assessment form in Swansea. This workshop will introduce participants to its use, particularly in relation to Team Around the Family.
A Restorative Practice culture will ensure all agencies and professionals are consistent in their work with children, young people and families, building on existing good practice. This interactive session will give participants a taster of Restorative Practice.
What is Counselling? The Exchange is the Children & Young People’s counselling service in Swansea and available in many schools and community locations. This is an interactive demonstration and discussion led by a small group of counsellors who provide a demonstration of how counselling works and how it is used by those who choose to access it.
Rights & Responsibilities The UNCRC underpins the ethos, behaviours and decisions of schools, the local authority and organisations involved in making decisions about children and young people so that Swansea is a child and young person friendly place. This session demonstrates how Gwyrosydd Primary School has successfully embedded this in the school.
