There’ll be festive fun galore from 19 November until 9 January, when Museum Park, in the grounds of the National Waterfront Museum, is once again transformed into Waterfront Winterland. Enjoy ice skating on the Admiral rink and Rocky the Road Safety Rooster’s children’s rink; visit Santa’s Grotto, kindly supported by Swansea Waterfront Beefeater, experience the family funfair, taste delicious food and of course, brave the Miles Hire Big Wheel. Waterfront Winterland is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas.

Ice Skating There’s no better way to enjoy a winter’s day or night than on the Admiral outdoor ice rink and, back for another year is Rocky’s children’s rink, the only one of its kind in Wales. Tickets can be bought in advance, in person at Swansea Tourist Information Centre, Plymouth Street, Swansea, or at the Admiral rink from 19 November. Santa’s Grot to Waterfront Winterland wouldn’t be complete without a traditional Santa’s Grotto. The little ones will be greeted by Santa’s elves before meeting Santa himself. All visitors to the grotto will receive a Christmas present. There will also be the opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa. Drop your Christmas letter in the Royal Mail post box by 18 December and receive a reply from Santa himself.

As part of the Winterland experience you can enjoy our traditional funfair, with some great attractions for everyone. The star of the show is the Miles Hire Big Wheel which is clearly visible on the city skyline. It’s one of the largest touring wheels in the UK, so take a trip 44m up and enjoy the brilliant panoramic views over Swansea Bay. Some favourites return with the Snow Storm ride and you can also ride horses on the traditional carousel. Our new ride for 2010 is Mad Mouse as it takes passengers on a mini rollercoaster adventure.
Christmas is always associated with delicious food and drink and Waterfront Winterland has a variety of stalls to satisfy a range of appetites.
