Too often customers look at BTU’s to determine how they purchase. During the 1980s, Blodgett was the first oven manufacturer to understand the need for energy efficiency. Back then typical convection ovens were anywhere from 85,000 to over 100,000 BTU’s. That’s a lot of extra expense.

We introduced the DFG with a BTU rating of 55k. The DFG-100 performed the same as higher BTU rated ovens but used less gas without sacrificing performance. Bottom line!! The BTU rating does not necessarily equate to higher performance or better recovery. The new ES series ovens have two different ratings • 45k BTUs for the standard depth • 50k BTUs for the bakery or deep depth How did we lower the BTUs and increase performance? Four key features:
