Here is one opportunity...
We are the Ridgecrest Veterans Advisory Council (RVAC). We help Veterans with any and all V.A. resources. We help homeless Veterans by temporarily putting them in hotels until Veterans Admin. Supportive Housing can find them permanent housing in our community. We will provide Veterans in need with food, as needed. We assist them with utilities when needed, they’ll come to us with a shut off notice for utilities than we will catch the utilities but we can only do that once a year per Veteran.
Ridgecrest Veterans Advisory Council holds a quarterly collaborative meeting where the West LA VA will bring services to meet the needs of said Veterans. That would include things like Veterans ID’s, Mental Health, A Mobile Medical Unit, we have the Veterans Service officer and VA Benefits there to open disability claims for Veterans, and many other services. We help the Veteran find the services they need and if said services are not available at the Collaborative then we make sure they have the numbers they need to get the help. We offer snacks and drinks at Collaboratives free of charge. It is a great opportunity for Veterans to network and socialize.
Once a year we have what we refer to as a Standdown. We have a lot of services, from not only from the VA but all over the area. Every service that attends has something that they offer to Veterans free of charge. We have America’s Job center there to assist veterans with resumes and help them locate jobs in their field. The West LA VA packs the place with services in the hopes they can save the veteran from the long drive to the Veterans hospital. We offer the Veteran breakfast and Lunch and drinks and snacks throughout the day, and it needed food to take with them. We continue to follow up with the Veteran as needed.

Breaded Pork Chops
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups dry bread crumbs
2 teaspoons paprika
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 bone-in pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick)
2 tablespoons canola oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 425°. In a shallow dish, mix the first 8 ingredients. Brush both sides of pork chops with oil. Place chops, 1 at a time, in dish and turn to coat.
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until a thermometer reads 145°, 15-20 minutes, turning once.
