The Ridgecrest Elks Lodge invites you to participate in the 44th Annual Children’s Christmas Parade. This year’s theme is “A Christmas Celebration.” The parade will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 10 am. The Parade begins at the corner of Norma & Las Flores, goes south to Ridgecrest Blvd, east to Balsam Street, then north on Balsam back to Las Flores.

The Elks are proud to announce this year’s Grand Marshall will be Sgt. Austyn B. Butler, United States Marine Corp. Sgt. Butler is in charge of this year’s annual “Toys For Tots Drive” here in the High Desert area.

The parade is non-competitive. However, participants will receive a parade ribbon showing participation.

I’d like to thank the staff at the Indian Wells Valley Water District - namely Joe, Diane, and Ashley, for providing exemplary service. When I initially phoned, Diane said that she would send out a work order right away to check on my extremely low water pressure at the kitchen sink. Joe came out but I wasn’t home at the time. He phoned and left a message, and when I called him back he said he could come out again immediately or first thing in the morning and take a look - which he did. He took care of a minor problem in a friendly and professional way and the experience from beginning to end made me feel like finding the answer to my problem was very important to them. Our rates may have gone up, but at least the service provided is excellent.

The concert features the very best in Celtic music-songs that come from past generations as well as stories from present day observations. Donnie MacDonald, a Scotsman, and Jimmy Keigher, an Irishman, combine music with humor in a very special union that leaves an audience laughing and cheering for more. On stage, they perform with octave mandolin, accordion, bodhrans, guitar, banjo and mandolin while singing their songs in both English and Gaelic. Their vocals are rich with harmony and strong in unison. Together Men of Worth have a simple approach to their presentation, and in keeping with tradition, remain true to the music and story.
