Page 1 of 5 Regular AR Verbs
The Spanish infinitive, or base form of the verb, is divided into two parts: the stem and the ending. Many verbs end in ar. The verb cantar (to sing) can be divided into the stem and base: cant + ar. In order to conjugate a verb, you must change the ending in order to make the verb agree with the subject. To conjugate a regular ar verb, drop the ar ending and add one of the following: o, as, a, amos, áis, an. Here is the present tense conjugation of cantar : yo canto tú cantas él canta ella canta usted canta nosotros cantamos nosotras cantamos vosotros cantáis vosotras cantáis ellos cantan ellas cantan ustedes cantan
